Lookout Lodge is situated 27km from central Pretoria, in an Eco Estate, where game roam freely.This property is peaceful and relaxing, and the views, the location, the ambiance, the outdoor space will ensure a completely relaxing stay. We are close to the diamond mining town of Cullinan, with lots of quaint eateries, shops and of course the ever-popular mine tours. Of course, should you wish to do a spot of shopping, the nearest malls are just down the road. This is the perfect stop over for travellers touring the country, where you can have a few days of just blissful peace.

The space

The house is a stone-built farmhouse, as modern inside as it is quaint and old fashioned from the outside. You can relax at the pool, or on the lookout deck, while watching the game coming by for a drink of water. The area is magically quiet, and you hear no traffic noise, only the odd jackal howling (after all the neighbouring dogs have gone to bed!). You will, however, hear the farm animals on the neighbouring farms, and the odd bark of an alarmed impala.

The price listed is inclusive of an excellent dinner as well as breakfast.  We do not supply any liquor or other drinks, please bring your own.  There is a fridge outside the guest suite.

Walks on the farm are allowed, subject to rules. The TV lounge is shared with your hosts, and so is the dining room. There is also a fully functional dining area outside of the guest rooms, which is where we have our braai (barbeque) and fire pit,  and where we spend magical nights sitting outside, listening to the silence, and chatting the night away with friends. Guests are welcome to share all the sitting areas and bar area as well as the garden and pool.

Other things to note

The Great Danes, Zane and Charley, are large (giant) breed dogs, but extremely docile. Guests share their space with them as well as 3 cats (hardly ever seen), and as of late, a chicken (gifted to us) who provides us with an egg a day!  We are on hand if you need us, and you are welcome to interact with us, however, we totally respect your privacy.

 Our fees are currently ZAR650.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT. That is the price for each person, maximum 4 guests. 

The guest rooms are a suite of 2 rooms and 1 bathroom.  It sleeps 4. We do not let out the second bedroom in the unit to another party, if 2 people only have booked in.  We will only open both rooms to guests travelling together.  So no strangers, only family or friends. That means that as soon a s 2 people book a room, the other room is automatically closed to more bookings.

No children under 14 years old please.  We are quite willing to be flexible on this rule, depending on circumstances.  

Please note that we cannot cater for wheelchairs, and there are stairs in the building

We are closed from 15 December to 6 January 2020.  We can however, help out if really necessary.

On 6 January 2020 our price will increase to ZAR690.00 per person per night.

The house rules are available should anyone request to see it beforehand.
