Guesthouse Gimbur has 5 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
We have unique surroundings and provide hospitality with personal service and relaxed atmosphere.
The house has two bathrooms, two showers, one tub and a hot tub on the veranda. Large kitchen and large dining /sittingroom on second floor.
ROOMSIncluded in room price are towels and linen. Free access to shared bathrooms, kitchen, hot tub, lounge, TV, DVD, wi-fi and parking.
Breakfast Isk 2000/ EUR 17 per person.
Breakfast includes coffe, tee, homemade pancakes, bread, butter, cheese, jam, eggs, oatmeal and skyr/jogurt.
Kitchen and bathroom are well equipped and good facilities for breakfast and dinner.
Activities
Hiking in the surrounding area, with our friendly dog Varmi, bird watching, outdoor hot tub and horse riding in the summer time. Cross-country skiing, Northern lights and unique experience in the dark winter. Hofsós swimming pool (15 min drive), museum and restaurants close by and the town of Siglufjörður (30 min drive).Outdoor activities in unspoiled nature. Hike in the mountains or take a walk along the coast of The Arctic Ocean in day or night, as we have daylight 24/7 during the Icelandic summer.
You can also choose to take a guided horse ride in neighboring horse rental at Langhús Horse Farm (www.http://icelandichorse.is ).
If you are more into cultural experience you can visit Siglufjörður, which houses The Herring Era Museum (http://www.sild.is/en), The Icelandic Emigration Center in Hofsos (http://en.hofsos.is/) or the unique restaurant at Lónkot (5 min drive.

Getting here:
By car
If you are travelling by car from Reykjavik you take route 1 northbound and follow signs for "Siglufjörður". After ca. 300 km you reach Blönduós, after passing Blönduós you turn left route 74 and continue (ca.7 km) then turn right route 744 and continue through Sauðárkrókur village, continue along the seaside route 75 until you reach route 76, then you turn left and continue route 76 ca. 50 km (passing Hofsós) and you are there.
By air
Take plane from Reykjavik City airport to Akureyri, from Akureyri centrum (Hof) the bus goes just as far as to Siglufjörður (ca 1 hour) and you will need to call us at 899 3183 on the way to Siglufjörður and we will meet you there. The pick up to Siglufjörður for max 4 pers. costs Ikr. 6000 (35 km).
By bus
The bus goes as far as Hofsós only on Wednesdays and Fridays. From Reykjavík busstation at Mjódd bus nr. 57 leaves at 9:00 an 17:30 to Sauðárkrókur N1. Passengers continuing to Hofsós need confirm that to chauffeur at departure from Reykjavík. Call us at 899 3183 from Sauðárkrókur and we meet you at Hofsós. The pick up at Hofsós for max 4 pers costs Ikr. 4000 (20 km).
